This was my very first newborn photography session.  Her mom is a fellow photographer and a dear friend.  I was so excited to photograph her baby!  When I look back at this session I can’t help but think that I had some pretty amazing beginners luck.  There are images from Betsey’s session that I am not proud of (we all start somewhere), but there are so many that I still love today.  In fact I still use two of the images from this very first session on my business cards.  I have such fond memories of this session.  Betsey’s mom, Rebecca, was so patient and encouraging.  I am a very lucky to have such a wonderful woman in my life.  I was so nervous to start a career in photography.  I doubted my talents and just plain didn’t believe in myself.  I was so bogged down by my admiration of other professionals.  What a gift encouragement is.  Even today when this wonderful friend finds out I need something she is searching on the Internet and sending me emails with links to all the things I need.  Seriously!  Everyone needs a Rebecca in their life.  We have traveled on a journey together.  I hope that little Betsey grows up to love her mom as much as I do (though I know I need to show it more!).
