Do you remember bringing your first baby home?  Can you remember the way the feeling in your home instantly changed?  Can you still feel the hints of the those overwhelming feelings of joy and happiness, tenderness and peace that overwhelmed your whole being when the two of you became the three of you?  Portraits are the time machines that take us back to all of that.  When I look at my photo albums and the pictures of my children as babies and see myself holding them I see that smile on my face and I feel it all, all over again.  It is the absolute best thing in the world that we are so visually minded and that a simple picture is all that it takes to unlock all the wonderful memories are brains lock away.  These days of overwhelming feeling of all the good things belong to James’s parents right now.  They are living the best part right now.  I swear there isn’t anything that beats it.  At least I haven’t experienced it yet.  There are many wonderful and exciting and still overwhelming perfect moments waiting for this family in their future.  But with a baby it is just different.  It is a whole new level of peaceful perfection.  I am so happy to be a part of that.  To be the memory maker.  The keeper of feelings.  The create of the time machine that James’s mom and dad will use over and over again to go back to this day and the ones before, the day they brought a perfect little boy into the world to share their lives with!
