I love this image.  Maternity portraits are all about showing that beautiful baby bump and capturing the emotion of expectation and excitement.  This is my favorite pose to show all of that.  When I am posing my moms for this image I set it up for them like this.  Pretend this is the window in baby’s nursery.  Image that you have finished the nursery, the clothes are bought and washed, the car seat in all installed, your hospital bag is packed and this is the eve of your due date.  Imagine what that will feel like.  What will you think about?  Will you imagine holding a tiny hand or counting 10 perfect little toes?  Do you have a lullaby you are yearning to sing?  Have you started thinking down the road to tying up your first pony tail or holding her hand in hand as you stroll along the beach for the first time?  That is all I have to say.  Half the time my beautiful mommy models cry.  Because with that hand on a tummy sheltering life and those limitless thoughts of a future soon to be the heart can’t help but become overwhelmed.  When is the last time you looked out your “window”?  What do you hope your future holds?
