It might have taken a day or two to choose a name for their brand new daughter, but I image it took not even a second to fall completely head over heels in love with her.  My favorite musical growing up was Hello Dolly.  There is a song, “It Only Takes A Moment” that is a lovely love song that is a pivotal moment in the show.  I used to wonder about how falling in love could happen so quickly.  I think it can happen at first sight, as the song describes, but more often in not in the case of partners it takes more time than that.  With a baby the song rings true.  I think that the writer of the song was writing about their own personal experience with falling in love with their new baby and used it for the the purpose of romantic love.  Have had four children I can attest that ever word is true.  I imagine these were the exact feeling of Anna’s mom and dad as they held her in their arms for the very first time.

It only takes a moment

I held her for an instant
But my arms felt sure and strong
It only takes a moment
To love a whole life long…

I am so blessed to have a job were I get to document that love a family has for their newborn babies.  Seeing first hand the bond that parents have with their little ones just days after bringing them into the world makes me know that our world despite all of our challenges and tragedies is still full of good people who love and want to be loved.  A baby is a miracle.  It only takes a moment, your heart grows and love triumphs.
