Babies are amazing learners!  One of the reasoning I love photographing toddlers at their one year birthday milestone is that it truly is a celebration of a lot of achievements.  In one short year your little one has learned to do some pretty amazing things.  I love this chart from Bump that puts all of those milestones into perspective.  The best part about a cake smash photo shoot is that you can truly see and capture the beginnings of a child’s personality.  Emilia has an easy smile.  She likes people and she she is a happy girl.  Photographing her was a lot of fun.  My mission was to get her awesome dimples to break through in at least a few of her pictures.  I can almost always get a baby to smile.  But once I put my camera in front of my face all bets are off.  That darn piece of technology keeps me from being able to interact in that moment.  So thank goodness for parents!  I always have mom or dad right behind me trying to coax that elusive smile out.  Emilia did a great job at her portrait session.  She even liked her cake.  Well to be honest, it was more the frosting that was her cup of tea.  I am super excited to share this sneak peek of her milestone session.
