Four beautiful children! I have been this amazing family’s baby photographer as they have brought four perfect babies into the world. They hold the record for Jennifer Wilcox Photography. I have photographed three children for several families. But only four for this one very special client. She has brought me two girls and two boys all with the same cherubic faces. When she messaged me last year to tell me she was expecting twins I was so happy for her! Owen and Emily are the jewels in her crown. They couldn’t be more different though. Owen is a the chunkiest muffin you have ever seen. And he is a momma’s boy! He smiles easily and is a laugher. Emily, like her sister is more serious and reserved. She is a watcher and learner. Photographing these two together was so much fun. Owen would sit, and Emily would crawl away. Emily happily picked away at her cake and Owen picked up the whole thing and shoved it in his mouth. Owen was more interested in me and Emily was more interested in the props I was using. They both have the prettiest blue eyes! We made sure to get some Sounder fan pics to finish off Dad’s collection of his kids in his favorite teams gear. And I made sure to get some awesome pictures of these two together, because they will always be one in a way, and on their own. Happy birthday to these two perfect little toddlers!

Is there anything better than a strawberry blond? I don’t think so. In my opinion it is the holy grail of hair. Cayden is a super model just waiting for someone to snatch him up. Here come college tuition and a trust fund. On top of a gorgeous head full of that oh so coveted hair color he has huge, gorgeous, look into my soul and be won over by my total total charm, blue eyes. Did I mention he is super sweet too? This little guy is the total package. If you can manage to get him to sit still for a minute. That was the challenge. How do we get Cayden to stay where we want him. Usually seats and buckets work wonders. But this little prince was a monkey. Never have I relied more on my reflexes and a super fast shutter speed, lol. Catching that shining smile before he looked away and was about his own business was no easy task. A good photographer will do whatever it takes. Most the time all it takes is fruit puffs. BUY FRUIT PUFFS! They are the miracle cure for parenting. I am super excited to share my favorite portraits of Cayden from his one year milestone photography session. There are so many great ones. It is always so hard to choose just a few to share on the blog. I think he is going to have a super happy mommy!

It might have taken a day or two to choose a name for their brand new daughter, but I image it took not even a second to fall completely head over heels in love with her. My favorite musical growing up was Hello Dolly. There is a song, “It Only Takes A Moment” that is a lovely love song that is a pivotal moment in the show. I used to wonder about how falling in love could happen so quickly. I think it can happen at first sight, as the song describes, but more often in not in the case of partners it takes more time than that. With a baby the song rings true. I think that the writer of the song was writing about their own personal experience with falling in love with their new baby and used it for the the purpose of romantic love. Have had four children I can attest that ever word is true. I imagine these were the exact feeling of Anna’s mom and dad as they held her in their arms for the very first time.

I am so blessed to have a job were I get to document that love a family has for their newborn babies. Seeing first hand the bond that parents have with their little ones just days after bringing them into the world makes me know that our world despite all of our challenges and tragedies is still full of good people who love and want to be loved. A baby is a miracle. It only takes a moment, your heart grows and love triumphs.

When you are a very special baby and you are about to celebrate your first birthday it is a pretty grand occasion! No wonder his Grandparents are traveling from far away states so that they can be with him to celebrate his special day. And what better way to celebrate such a special and happy occasion than to have your birthday portraits taken! Gabriel is such a happy little boy. He is full of happy, curious energy and smiles at the smallest encouraging smile from others. His cheerful and playful demeanor was caught in the beautiful portraits I was able to take of him this last week when he came to see me. I image that this next year is going to be filled with so many happy memories. A baby’s second year is my favorite. So many wonderful “feeling” memories will be cemented in his mommy’s mind. Like the way it feels to hold his chubby hand in hers as he toddles about. The way her heart will swell with happiness as she she him learn to run and jump with joy. The feeling she will feel forever every time she thinks back to how he will rush to the door to great her every time she has been away. And the laugh. That little tinkling sound of merriment, perhaps the best sound in all the world, will be heard so much in this next year that she will never forget it. Such a wonderful year ahead for this sweet little prince. Happy birthday Gabriel. Continue to let your light shine to uplift those around you!

Katherine is having a birthday! Just think of all the things she has learned in the last year. And how much she has grown. When you think about how much a difference that first year makes in what a baby can do and has learned it is amazing. Her little brain has been on over drive 24/7 to become the little lady she is today. She is learning not only how to survive and thrive in her world, but how to have fun doing it. And all the while she is making those connections she has bonded with people in ways that have helped to get to where she is today. Those first year tasks seem so small and simple to you and I. But if you have ever seen an adult suffering from sever trauma and accident have to relearn those basic baby skills you know just how complex and difficult they are. Babies are miracles! Do you ever look at them and wonder what they think, what they dream or how they are feeling? Their little minds are such a mystery to me. I am so happy that I got to meet Katherine and to commemorate her first of many amazing years with a portrait session. She deserved to be in the spotlight for the day and she did a great job at being a super little baby model. I am so excited to share these portraits with her family and to wish this little princess a very happy birthday and another wonderful year of milestones!
