When I looked at my calendar and saw that Emily and Owen were coming back to the studio to see me for their sitting milestone session I started thinking of fun ideas. I thought it would be the cutest ever to have them snacking on cheerios together. And it was. Just look at these two perfect little muffins. I decided for the sneak peek that I had to post just the one set, because I couldn’t pick a favorite. And I LOVE these images in black and white. The funny thing is that as I was getting the set all ready the Twins mommy reminded me that I had done the same set with their big sister. Which was years ago and I had not remembered. But how cool. Now I am wishing we had done the same set at their big brother’s photography session. If only I could go back in time. Emily and Owen have grown so much and are so different. Emily was busy the whole time checking out the studio and exploring what ever props I had near by. Owen just wanted to laugh at his mom the whole time. With every set there was Owen smiling his cute little head off and then his mom and I making a total fool of ourselves trying to get Emily’s attention to have her look up, lol. She is focused. I see a teachers pet (for being the best student ever) and a class clown in their future. And I also think these two adorable babes need to model for Cheerios, lol!

There is something extra special about a baby born in December. Holden held on just a little bit longer so he could have a December birthday. Having a baby around Christmas brings new meaning and a sweet peace to one of the best holiday’s of the year. Holding your new son in your arms on Christmas morning and thinking of the great gift that he is and all the wonderful years ahead of you is the best gift of all. Babies are a little bit of Heaven on Earth. This sweet boy’s parents hired me to be their Kirkland newborn photographer. I loved adding a little bit of winter and holiday goodness to Holden’s newborn photography session. It is always fun to have a little seasonal theme at a session. Holden’s pictures are off to my printer and I should be able to get his session all wrapped up and delivered right in time for the Holidays. (crossing my fingers for fast shipping) I am so happy to be a part of this families celebration of Holden’s happy beginnings!

Three perfectly adorable babies! I have been blessed to be the Edgewood baby photographer for this family as they have added three precious children to their family. What a blessing. Two little boys and then came a princess. Ava is definitely treated like a princess. Her mom has acquired for her the most amazing headband collection you have ever laid eyes on. I loved so many of the perfect little accessories that I contemplated making her a personal shopper for my business. We definitely have similar taste. It is so fun after doing boy stuff over so many years for this wonderful family that we finally are getting to have some girly fun. One of my favorites that Ava’s mom brought was this hand made dress. I can’t remember how many generations Emmalee said have worn the dress but it was several. It is still in pristine condition too. It is divine. Of course like we have done with her brothers before her she had to be photographed in her Huskies gear too. I think she brought her team good luck since just a few days later they won the Apple Cup. Little Ava looks like the little dolly that she is. I was sitting her editing her portraits while my 10 year old was plugged into you YouTube and she looked over and saw the image of her in her unicorn towel and said, “Oh my gosh that is the prettiest baby in the whole world!” That may be so Sara. Certainly her parents and brothers know so.

Ameila’s mom warned me as I went out to help her unload the car with all of the treasurers that she had brought for her daughter’s session, that she might have gone a bit overboard. I told her nonsense. Frequent’y I have parents who have prepared for their little one’s cake smash say that they might have planned a little extra, lol. I always reply nonsense. I feel like it is impossible to go too far. Just like it is impossible to spoil a child. Amelia’s mom definitely wins the contest for the most beautiful planning for a cake smash session ever. She bought a collection of beautiful florals and foliage and by hand created the most beautiful swag I have EVER seen! And then to beat it all she decorate the most perfect naked cake. It has come together stunningly. I am 100% sure that I have never photographed a more beautiful birthday session. Part of me really wished that the swag was made of fake blooms and greens. I would have bought it from her. So perfectly pretty! Just goes to show you how a little bit of planning and a splurge here or there can make all the difference in a photo shoot.
