Photographing a new baby and his big brother were the perfect end to my year. Bennett was my very last little muse of 2016. It was so cold at their session that I had to heat the portrait studio with the heaters for two days before his family arrived. Bennett’s newborn portraits were taken just a few days before Christmas during one of the coldest days of the year. It was only fitting that we have some Christmas fun styling his session. I used rich greens and creams with just a hint of red in his pictures. Bennett’s big brother, Bradley, was a little tentative around his new playmate. He was very gentle, just not to sure he wanted to be too close. If the little guy fused, Bradley’s hands went straight to cover his ears. I imagine though that in just a few very short months, maybe once Bennett is back to see more for his sitting baby session, that the two will be bonded playmates. Lincoln’s newborn session was very special for many reasons. First because his Grandma hired me to be her daughter’s Puyallup newborn photographer. Mrs. Steck is a household name in our house. She is one of my 9 year old daughter’s favorite people in the whole world. Mrs. Steck is her Suzuki piano instructor. Sara cries when ever she doesn’t have a lesson. She worships the ground this wonderful woman walks on. When Sara found out I would be photographing her piano teacher’s grand baby during Christmas break she ran around the house squealing with delight.
Lincoln’s Portrait Session
The most significant reason that made Lincon’s newborn photography sessions so special is what he represents. Lincoln represents years of prayers, triumph over obstacles, and a future filled with opportunity. Learning that his parents had struggled to have a baby for so many years pulled at my heart strings! As I worked to pose their precious little son I frequently caught glimpses of mom with tears in her eyes. It was all I could do not to sit down beside and have a good happy cry. All the loss and sorrow can now be replaced by joy and happiness. What a beautiful gift God finally gave this wonderful family. Moments like these in my studio remind me how honored I am to be a Puyallup newborn photographer. When I handle a couples baby I know that in my hands I hold their whole world. A son at last. He is their Christmas miracle!

It isn’t often that I have a family hire me to be their Lacey newborn photographer. Having to come through base traffic is daunting, I should know. My family lived in Dupont for several years and there was nothing that could coax me onto the freeway during rush hour. Hopefully the times that I schedule to have newborn sessions at the studio make the drive a little easier since I have clients come after the heat of the rush. Honestly though when you want something badly enough you will do anything. And I truly hope that clients, like this wonderful family, that hire me to take portraits of their brand new baby girl love my work enough to make the drive.
Liv’s Session
I was so excited to see the S family again in my portrait studio. I photographed their son a few years ago. Seeing babies that I have photographed all grown up is a special treat. Liv’s mom had worked out with me a color scheme for her session. Pretty mauves and purples and creams. It was such a perfect Holiday pallet. Of course we sneaked in a few Christmas themed portraits as well. You have to do that when you are lucky enough to be blessed with a Christmas baby! Liv was such a good little girl and her brother was so wonderful cooperative that I was able to take several sibling shots that I know mom is going to love.

Being Evelyn’s Puyallup baby photographer sure has been a privilege! I love working with happy babies. Evelyn was full of smiles throughout her whole portrait session. One of the things I LOVE about having a baby in the studio for a milestone photo shoot is that at 6 months when a little one is just learning how to sit independently it is pretty rare for them to be starting the dreaded separation anxiety phase. When I have toddler’s come to see me for a cake smash session or a birthday photo shoot that can often times be a problem that we have to work around. But at 6 months like this little lady, most babies are open to whoever wants to love on them. With their personalities just beginning to bloom, it is the perfect time to come see a Puyallup baby photographer! I sent Mom a few early images from her daughter’s session because I wanted to make sure she had her daughter’s Christmas pictures before Christmas. I am super excited to be sharing a few more favorite with her today!

When you are hired to be an Issaquah newborn photographer and your client’s baby is due around the Christmas holiday you are giddy with the excitement of styling that session. That was me a few weeks ago. With the holidays and Winter season upon us I had been stock piling some beautiful new props and headbands just waiting for the perfect little infants to come to my Puyallup studio for portraits. I am so thankful that I was invited to be Josephine’s newborn photographer. She was my only little girl to photograph the entire month. So I got to pull out all the stops for her photography session. It wasn’t just all the fun new accessories and ideas swirling around in my head that helped to create beautiful pictures, Josephine has the most patient and cooperative big brother ever. The sibling shots that I was able to get with baby girl and her brother are amazing. I am not sneak peeking those because I want to be sure Mommy and Daddy are the first to see them. It was such a pleasure to be this wonderful family’s Issaquah newborn photographer. I love to be a part of the arrival of a new baby. Just wish I could be a fly on the wall when Josephine’s Mom get’s her session package this weekend!
