Back To School Mini Sessions!

Back to school, portraits, fundraiser, kids, picturesHere are the details!

Please read them so there won’t be any surprises as this is not your TYPICAL mini session provided by a photography studio.

My daughter Emily and her friend Rachel, need to earn money to get themselves down to Peru next summer where they want to serve a service mission to build a new school, practice their Spanish and spend a day sight seeing.  The amount of money they need to earn is a little overwhelming.  This idea was born while brainstorming how to help them make this happen themselves.  These girls are amazing with kids, and have a lot of photography experience.  Here is how it will work.

There will be several 10 minute time slots available to choose from.  Signing up is first come, first serve.

When you go to sign up for your slot you will be required to pay your $20 fee up front.  That way we won’t have any no shows and loose valuable spots to people that don’t come.  I will be using Paypal as the portal to collect the session fees.  You do not have to have an account.  You can use your credit card without having an account.

If you are lucky enough to secure yourself a time slot, all you have to do is select your little one’s outfit and wait until Saturday.  Another way to make your kid’s back to school portrait extra special is to bring some of their favorite books.  That way the picture is personalized just for them.

We will see you at the mini session event on Saturday.  Please have your child come in their outfit so that we don’t loose any of your valuable time.  You have 10 minutes.  If you are late then you will only have a few minutes.

Here is my studio address:  12426 136th Ave E Puyallup 98374  Please park on the street so that you don’t get blocked in.

Emily (my daughter) and Rachel (her BFF) will be working in the studio to capture that one perfect picture of your sweet heart.  I will have all the equipment set up for them.  Basically they will be working as a team to coax a bright smile out of your youngster and to push the shutter button on the camera.  I will be there the WHOLE time and overseeing ever session.  But I want the girls to do the work.  Remember this is a FUNDRAISER!  Imagine pictures with Santa in the mall, but having super fun girls, a professional who cares about your portraits and 100% of the proceeds going to an excellent cause!  You win because you get to come home with a super affordable and excellent quality back to school portrait, and we win because your contribution helps these girls reach their goals.

There is only one child per portrait time slot.  NO SIBLING PHOTOS!  If you have three children, and you want pictures of them all you have to grab and pay for three time slots.  Babies MUST be sitting on their own if you are bringing them for a portrait.

Pictures will be edited over the weekend and delivered on Monday, September 26th via email.

Any questions?  Feel free to post them in the comments below!

We are excited to see you there!!!

I am trying to remember her big brothers perfect answers.  Sometimes I wish I took notes during portrait sessions.  As a Snoqualime newborn photographer I might have skills at making memories last forever, but my own memory seems to be getting more and more slippery.  One of my favorite questions to ask big sisters and brothers is what they want to teach their babies when they get older.  Benjamin’s answers were adorable.  This very sweet and sincere three year old plans on teaching baby sister how to jump.  That one I remember.  I think there was something about throwing big things behind her and something with the family dog.  But listening him tell me all of the things he is looking forward to was a study in feelings.  As I listened to his sweet little voice stumble over words and race with excitement I was so happy for him.  Happy for this family who has so many fun things in store in their future.  I may not remember the specifics, but I sure do remember how listening to big brother made me feel.  It was the best.

When you have spent the whole last year raising and caring for a wiggly little bear cub, I mean boy, you deserve a special treat when he reaches his first year milestone.  You deserve to hire a Renton baby photographer who can wrangle that little bear cub and convince him to pose perfectly for beautiful birthday portraits.  And if you don’t have a cake, goldfish are a perfect substitute.  In fact they are so perfect that I think I will keep some on hand for cake smash sessions when little ones are too excited about their frosting covered pastry.  Brody was full of smiles and sweetness.  Just look at these beautiful images of a little boy so full of life!  I had so many favorites from Brody’s session that I had a really hard time picking favorites to share in this sneak peek post.  Which one is your favorite?

If you want to see how much he has changed and grown over the last year, click here to see his newborn session.

Dad didn’t get to be there for this session.  So I am hoping these images of his little son will make his day.

Happy birthday baby boy!  I hope your next year is an awesome one!

I have been looking forward to this little guys birthday session for several months.  It is always a special treat when you get to photographer the milestone moments of a baby that you have seen grow up throughout the year.  It is even more special when you are photographing a second or third child for client that you love to work with.  Colin is such a pleasant little man.  He has such a sweet and cooperative personality.  His session images really reflect that.  He was full of smiles and such a little character.  I especially love the pictures of him on the chair and in the wagon.  Colin has done a lot of growing up this year.  One thing that hasn’t changed much are his perfectly kissable cheeks.  Here he is a year ago with his sweet big sister.  This next year is going to be so much fun for his family.  My favorite baby age is 18 months, still a baby but bursting with personality.  Happy birthday little buddy!

Tukwila Newborn Photographer ~ Logan

Tukwila Newborn Photographer

Just a few years ago I was Logan’s big brother’s Tukwila newborn photographer.  Last week I was able to photograph another beautiful baby boy with this wonderful family.  Two very handsome boys.  I love little boys.  Maybe I feel it extra strongly because I am missing my own boy, who is all grown up and just left for college.  What I wouldn’t give to have pictures like the ones I took for this family in my home to remind me of the wonderful moments of bringing him home, snuggling his tiny new body and falling in love.  Instead, in a folder somewhere in a filing cabinet, I have some very cheesy JC Penny’s portraits of my perfect little boy surrounded by strange awkward props. When a family knows the value of fine art portraits from the very beginning of their important moments my hats are off to them. I am so grateful that I get to be a part of such a special time.  Just putting the finishing touches on his session before sending off a beautiful package to his wonderful parents.
