Colette, may she be a victorious young woman. I love the meaning of this beautiful name. When you name your daughter with such a name you are wishing her triumph in all of her endeavors. May she do well in school. Make good friend’s easily. Find talents she can excel at. Find the best match for her mate. Be the best daughter, sister, friend, wife and mother. So many hopes and dreams all wrapped up in one very beautiful name. I’m absolutely in love with this baby girl’s name. Her sweet nickname, Coco did me in. How absolutely perfect is that. So many sweet things to lovingly call your little one. Coco puff, Coco nut…just swooning….
Caolette’s family hired me to be their Everett newborn photographer and I feel so blessed that they did. Getting to meet their family has been a privilege. I am so glad I was the lucky photographer who photographed this chubby bundle of perfection. Colette was a very good girl at her session and I was able to many beautiful portraits of her. Her mom requested pinks and whites and so I had fun stiling a very girly session for her princess.
I am in LOVE! As in 100% head over heels in LOVE with this image of Kai. His mom was brilliant to bring this fur scarf (not really sure what it is) to his session. Kai didn’t appreciate being wrapped up in it. But he sat still just long enough to get this perfect portrait of him. I die! I captured one of him smiling too, showing off his sparkly new teeth. But this one is my favorite. So much drama. Kai is such a good looking little man that being his Seattle baby photographer was a piece of cake. Well, up until the cake. He wasn’t super excited about cake.
I have been photographing Kai since his newborn session. I can’t believe he has grown a year all ready. Time flies, even when they are not your own. For a quick peek at this handsome little guy when he was just a few days old click here. He has changed so much. Filled out into the little chunk that he is, and look at the amazing hair. I love to see how much babies change in their first year. I have so many favorite images from Kai’s Seattle baby photography session but I chose not to sneak peek them all. I really wanted to showcase my favorite image. It is just that special!
I was so excited to hear that baby Gemma had finally arrived. Sometimes I feel like an inpatient mother to be myself instead of just a Seattle newborn photographer. Awaiting the arrival of a baby is so very exciting. Ever sine Ashley came to the studio for maternity portraits which you can see here, I have been looking forward to doing her newborn session. Such an great little family. Gemma was the first baby that I got to practice shooting video with. The day before her session I spent the day up in Bothell learning a few tips and tricks about shooting film. It is a broad and complicated field. And honestly I only want to scratch the surface. Just enough to include a few video clips in my clients sessions to truly and comprehensively capture the joy of the moments that I capture as a Seattle newborn photographer. Gemma was a good girl and very patient with me. I have a lot to learn still and lots of practicing to do! But I am up for the job. Anything to make my client’s experience with me more amazing. I am super excited to share Gemma’s images with her family.
Laura hired me to be her daughter’s Seattle newborn photographer. She brought me her beautiful baby daughter and let me hold and snuggle her all morning while I worked to take some beautiful baby portraits of her. My very favorite image from Hazel’s newborn session is the on of her wide awake looking right at me. Hazel was awake and alert for most of her newborn photography session. She has the most dainty little girl features. I’m glad I was able to get some images of her with her eyes open because they really just light up her perfect little face. Another reason I love that one image in particularly is that it really features the highlights Hazel has in her hair. I swear to you I didn’t do a single thing to augment those perfect highlights in photoshop. They are the real deal. It’s like she spent hundreds of dollars on the perfect color job at a posh salon! She has the most amazing golden tones in the head full of hair. Her mom and I are both thinking that being a blondie is in this little lady’s future. I am really hoping, crossing my fingers, that I get to see little miss Hazel back in my studio for a sitting and birthday portrait session so that I can see how she grows and changes from a perfectly sweet newborn to an adorably cute toddler!
I got to do something a little different as this baby girl’s Spanaway newborn photographer. Her mommies have a love of all things Disney. While my style is more classic with rich color tones and simple sets and props I do always try to accommodate at least one special request from parents when they come to me with ideas. This little girl was meant to be a princess. Her mommies brought in her Snow White Disney dress and I put together some props to create a little woodland shrine to this beautiful baby girl. I was a little nervous about bringing the concept all together. But I am so happy with how the shot turned out. Hoping to make yet another happy family’s dream shot come true. I guess we will find out when Isabella’s sneak peek goes live. Crossing my finger! Her mommies also wanted to get a before and after shot. We got the first of the shots during their maternity session and then were able to finish off the before and after at Isabella’s newborn session. Sweet and simple and all about the love and connection these women have for their daughter. To see more from their maternity session click here.
