I met this family several months when they came to my daughter’s mini session fundraiser.  It was so exciting to learn that they were expecting a baby boy.  My fingers were crossed from that point on that they would choose me to be their Puyallup newborn photographer.  Sometimes you just click with a family.  I really wanted to work with them when their son arrived to make sure the would have beautiful portraits to celebrate his arrival.  Over the past few months I have seen Maggie’s excitement grow as she watched me post sneak peeks on my facebook page.  Every time I posted a session with a newborn born I saw her liking and commenting on the post.  She messaged me once letting me know that with every post featuring a baby boy her anticipation grew.  It is wonderful to know that you can give something to a mother that they are so excited to have and will forever treasure.  Connor was a very good sleeper.  It is a good thing.  Maggie had told me that her dream shot was the branch shot that I do (featured above).  I always warn parents that this shot is by no means a guarantee.  While it is a composite (meaning that the babies are never actually hanging on their own from the tree branch), the baby does have to be very sleepy in order for me to make it work.  Every time I am able to nail a shot that I know parents really want it makes me so happy.  I also really love working with older siblings.  There are so many wonderful portraits of Connor with his super sweet big sister.  Life is good as a Puyallup newborn photographer.  I feel so blessed to be able to do what I love.

I was so excited when I found out that the Crute family was having another baby.  And even more excited when I heard that baby number two was going to be another baby girl.  I truly believe that all girls need sisters.  Watching my own daughters grow up I have gained a strong belief that having a sister makes a girl a better person.  I know that girls can make friends that become sisters to them.  But there is something different about living and learning from that bond and relationship every day.  I came across this article about nine reasons having a sister in your life is important.

  1. They are there for you emotionally and physically.
  2. They tell you when you stink.
  3. They roll their eyes right along with you.
  4. They are the reason other women will trust you.
  5. They are fantastic sounding boards.
  6. They help decipher other women’s behavior.
  7. They have dateable friends.
  8. They remember all the important dates.
  9. They are your flesh and blood.

I can just see these two sweet girls discovering the wonders of the world together.  Riding bikes down the street together.  Whispering to each other at night about their secret crush.  Dancing on the couches to the Taylor Swift of their decade.  So many wonderful memories yet to be made are in store for these two beautiful girls.

Harper is coming up on one year here pretty soon, I imagine that it will bring her family great joy to see their little princess as she was when she was just a few days old.  She was such a perfect little chubby muffin.

I am so excited that the Cowarts invited me to be their Puyallup Newborn Photographer for baby number two.  I can’t believe it has been so long since I was taking newborn pictures of Jensen’s big sister, Rilynn.  But look at her all grown up in the family portrait.  Just crazy how fast time flies.  The Cowart family has since moved to Hood River, so it was a big deal to travel up to Puyallup to see me for baby pictures of little Jensen.  I am so glad they did.  It is a real privilege to be part of such a special time.  It was fun to remember back to Rilynn’s newborn photography session and to compare her brand new brother to her.  I think Jensen won for being a better sleeper.  But I am calling it a tie on who was the best model for their newborn portraits.  I know this wonderful family loves their Hawks.  It was no trouble at all to talk them into these colors.  Jensen is a little baby 12!  It won’t be long before he too is screaming for the Seahawks!  I love the blanket that mom brought to her session with her sons name printed on it.  It was given to her as a baby gift and it is just perfect!  Congratulations to this wonderful family!

Welcome to the world baby Isaac!  It was a pleasure to meet your mom and dad and to be your Tacoma newborn photographer.  I loved getting to snuggle you and rock you and look into those big dark eyes of yours.  You were such a great little sport on your special portrait day!  When clients come hire me to be there baby’s Tacoma newborn photographer they are hoping that I capture images of their baby just like these that I took of you.  You were perfection.  I almost got this sneak peek up for your mom before Mother’s Day.  That would have been awesome.  But she was probably busy holding you, rocking you and just being so thankful to be holding you in her arms.  So the day after Mother’s Day will have to do.  She looks so beautiful holding you.  Look at all that love captured in a portrait.  I hope you will be able to always look back at the images from your newborn session and know without a shadow of a doubt that you were wanted.  You were loved.  You were everything.

If you are expecting a baby please don’t trust anyone other than a professional Tacoma newborn photographer with capturing these fleeting memories.  You just created life.  You deserve the best.

Seattle Baby Photographer ~ Sawyer

Seattle Baby Photographer

There are so many cute portraits to share from Sawyer’s Seattle baby photography session.  It is always super hard to pick favorites, but it was extra hard in Sawyer’s case.  I think my favorite series of image is this little guy with his beautiful drum.  LOVED them all!  But then he was perfect in every other set so I had to share one from everything.  He really rocked his Mariner’s jersey.  That series is my next favorite.  Mom had all of the perfect sports gear to make that set really stand out and be awesome.  She really wanted a shot of her little guy and his reflection in the mirror too.  But for some reason this shot works well with sitting babies that are about six months old and it has never been an easy shot with one year old toddlers.  They just don’t like it.  Maybe they are smart enough to wonder why they are sitting on another baby, lol, who knows.  But I was quick with the shutter button and got two great portraits of Sawyer before he refused to sit on the other baby for one more minute.

If you want to take a trip down memory lane and see little Sawyer when he was just a few days brand new, clink on the link here to see his newborn photography post.
