When you are a Puyallup baby photographer you get to meet the cutest little people. Scarlett is adorable. She came to her photography session and her mommy unpacked the most adorable wardrobe you have ever seen for me to use for her session. When I saw this perfect little white dress and the bunny ear headband I was over joyed. With a baby photographer session just a few weeks before the Easter Holiday I knew I had to do something special. And I wanted it to be a surprise. It turned out that my idea was a little above my abilities and I needed some help from a wonderful friend and colleague Melissa Layton. She was able to help get Mr. Bunny looking just right. Where there was a little pile of fruit puffs there is now a furry friend. I love the magic of photography! I am excited to try to improve the skills necessary to add furry friends into session this month. All of my milestone sessions this month will include a fun little Easter surprise like this one. So if you are looking for a Puyallup baby photographer with a fun little Holiday magic up her sleeve look no further!
When expecting mothers are looking for a Graham maternity photographer I hope they find me. Taking the day to create beautiful portraits of a woman who is radiating with motherhood is a privilege. I love being able to show women how beautiful they are. Nature looks beautiful on everyone. Fullness of life and and beautiful round curves are the tokens of a miracle about to be born. There is no greater thing in this life that a woman can do than to give life to another. As a Graham maternity photographer I try to make my portraits reflect those feelings. The emotions involved in pregnancy ( at least the best ones). Expectations, joy, happiness, anticipation, the spiritual and the sacred feelings of becoming a mother. Nine months of learning to love the unseen. Nine months of thinking about that first moment of meeting. Nine months to prepare for the rest of your life. Anna is about to become a mother. I am so glad she saw the value in capturing that “becoming” on camera to treasure it up in her heart forever. Motherhood is the very heart and soul of a woman.
The best part is that I get to see this beautiful client again in just a few short weeks once she has brought her baby girl into the world. I can not wait to meet her and celebrate her arrival with her adoring family. Photographing newborns feeds my soul. What a joy it is to hold perfection in your hands and to freeze it and the joy and happiness that goes with it in a photograph. I’m convinced that the only job that is more fulfilling is getting to be the person that helps to bring babies into the world. And in this baby girl’s case, that honor will be filled by her grandma, Midwife extraordinaire, Nancy Spencer.
It has been a year since I became Mila’s Seattle baby photographer. Hopefully a year full of happy memories for this little family. It was right before Christmas when I first met this little lady’s Mom and Dad. They came to see me for maternity portraits. My favorite part of doing maternity sessions is getting to meet families before they come to see me for their newborn session. Getting to help mom’s in their last trimester of pregnancy feel beautiful is awesome. But connecting with parents before we celebrate the birth of their baby is the best. I am such a people person. I love getting to know all about people and the things we have in common and the things we don’t. This mommy and I share a love for dressing our babies in style. I love every single article of clothing she has ever brought to a session. Here is Mila inside her mommy’s tummy still growing.
Mila is going to be just as beautiful and smart as her mommy. She is off to a good start by hating cake, lol. That will help with obtaining her mommy’s gorgeous figure. Poor little Mila. She had this perfectly beautiful cake. It even had the best frosting, whipped cream frosting! And she didn’t want to have anything to do with it. She put her hand in the frosting and it got all messy and she was done. We coaxed a few more shots of her but little lady had no interest in sugar goodness.
The great thing about cake smash sessions with me is that I hedge my bets. Not all babies love cake. In fact only about half of my little clients get into the whole idea of smashing their birthday cake. Knowing this we start each one year milestone photography session with portraits. I want my mommies and daddies to have stunning pictures of their precious little people. And so I make sure it happens whether or not my little clients have a sweet tooth or not.
Happy Birthday little Mila. I have loved photographing you from your very beginnings!
Ellie this year you turn one. We celebrated your first baby birthday a very special way, with a cake smash. Your mommy made you a yummy homemade cake. You weren’t too interested in the cake, but you loved the frosting. So you sat there, cute as could be and with one dainty finger lick at a time decided to conquer that frosting. This birthday is the first of many. But it is extra special. You reached a very important milestone, as so your mommy and daddy wanted to hire me, a baby photographer, to capture in beautiful portraits this special event. One, that is such a small word for such a big accomplishment. Think of all of the wonderful things you have learned. All of the big changes that you were totally the boss at mastering. Just a year ago, you couldn’t lift your head up. Three hundred and sixty five days ago you could even make your hand open when you wanted to and now look at you clapping. Such a BIG girl. Twelve months ago you couldn’t feed yourself, you couldn’t laugh and you couldn’t smile. Now you are super duper at all of those things. What an amazing year it has been. And so we celebrate with special picture of the birthday girl doing the big girl things she has learned.
Being a Seattle baby photographer means that I get to meet lots of cute babies. It is always an extra special privilege when I get to see them grow during their first year. I am happy to provide milestone baby sessions to my customers. What always seems to catch me by surprise though is just how fast these little people grow up. Just a year ago I was holding this smiling, happy toddler in my hands and curling her up in swaddling blankets as I took her newborn portraits. This time we were chasing her all around the studio. We sang her silly songs and watched her dance. We laughed as she threw cake all over the floor but refused to eat hardly a bite. She has blossomed into a cheerful, playful and practically perfect little toddler.
I love that during Antonia’s Seattle baby photography session I was able to incorporate some of her special things from home. She got to pose with some of her favorite cuddly stuffed animals. We photographed her in one of her favorite play outfits reading her favorite books. We used the little sign that her mom has photographed her with every month of her first year. When she was all washed up after smashing her birthday cake her mom and dad dressed her up and they were ready to head home and I just had to grab one more picture of her. Because she was wearing a crown people! Cutest thing in the whole wide world…baby in a crown.
Can’t wait to share this session because Antonia really knew how to work the lens. Happy birthday little princess!
