Life is changed, but that’s okay;
It’s fun to spend glad hours each day,

That comes along with parenthood.

I love capturing a baby’s wonder during a photo shoot. An expression of wonder caught in a baby portrait is priceless. I feel like it could be the theme to one of those clever credit card commercials.

And there you have it. A perfect memory made and captured forever. When he is 17 and about to start his senior year, Jake’s mom can dig up this amazing picture and remember how wonderful it was to have a one year old boy. I am at that point in my own life right now. I have two weeks before I begin the very last year I have with my son at home. In one year he will be off to college. In one year he will be an adult. In one year he will forget that he was once my baby, he will fly from the nest. I think it is during those first few months after he has started out on his own that I will miss him the most I will be be holding tight to portraits of him. Maybe some with bubbles, a face covered in cake, holding his teddy bear Fuzz…Pictures will be the catalyst for memories that I treasure.
Of all the things that you invest in as a parent. Portraits of your children are one of the most rewarding. Newborn pictures, baby photographs, milestone moments all of these are perfect times for having your baby’s portrait professionally taken. I am so grateful to be part of making memories for parents like Jake’s who come to see me.
Sometimes you have to think outside the box as a Puyallup baby photographer. Traditionally birthdays are celebrated with a cake. Typically at baby milestone portrait sessions we are handing baby a cake to destroy at their pleasure. But when you have an adorable baby girl who is allergic to all sorts of things, bless her heart…you improvise. Every baby deserves a smash session to celebrate their birthday milestone. And when cake won’t do strawberries seem like the next best thing. I asked Harper’s mommy what kind of foods Harper could eat that she loved and strawberries was the answer. This may or may not be the very first strawberry smash. When her mommy said she liked strawberries she wasn’t kidding either. Harper LOVED them. I purposefully looked for the biggest, reddest strawberries I could find at the store. I assumed Harper would take bites. But no, this little lady was stuffing the whole gigantic berry into her mouth. We had to slice them and watch her closely she was so over the moon with her berries. I can only imagine the disaster of frosting she would have created with a cake, lol. These pictures just could not make me any happier. Her halo of golden curls, those huge blue eyes and those delicious strawberries. YUMM!

Once upon a time there was a princess. She was perfectly pink with soft squishy cheeks. She smelled like everything brand new and innocent about the world. Her tiny hand held by another could bring instant happiness and peace. She was everything good in the world. She was hope, love and the future. On the day she was born she caused hearts to grow, tears of joy and pure, happy laughter to ring out for all to hear. She was a miracle and her name is Harlow.
