Seattle Baby Photographer ~ Miraculous

“Once there were two women who never knew each other
One you do not remember, the other you call Mother
Two different lives shaped to make you one
One became your guiding star, the other became your sun
The first one gave you life, and the second taught you to live it
The first gave you a need for love, the second was there to give it
One gave you a nationality, the other gave you a name
One gave you a talent, the other gave you aim
One gave you emotions, the other calmed your fears
One saw your first sweet smile, the other dried you tears
One made an adoption plan, that was all that she could do
The other prayed for a child, and God led her straight to you.
Now, which of these two women, Are you the product of?
Both, my darling, Both, Just two different types of love.”

Seattle Baby Photographer

My clients this past week were celebrating the adoption of their brand new baby girl.  Their story was so wonderful to hear.  How they waited, how they were told a baby was waiting for them, the miracle of naming their baby all the details were so wonderful to hear about.  I love that being a Seattle baby photographer means that I get to meet so many wonderful families and hear the stories of how their babies came into the world, whether that be through bearing a baby themselves or through adoption.  Each and every story is a miracle!

Adoption is such a beautiful thing.  That a woman choose to give a life instead of ending one is just the first of many difficult decisions that a birth mom makes.  I have often thought about the first moments of reaction that an adopting mother has when she first hears the news that another woman has decided to make her a mother.  After months, years of waiting to have a situation totally out of your control end with such a perfect beginning.  There must just be a tidal wave of emotions.  I am so happy for this baby girl.  She will have be so very loved.  It was such an honor to be her Seattle baby photographer and to capture her innocent and perfect beginnings!

Tacoma Newborn Photographer ~ Tula 9 Days New

A sister is someone who loves you from the heart,
No matter how much you argue you cannot be drawn apart.
She is a joy that cannot be taken away,
Once she enters your life, she is there to stay.

I am so excited that I got to be Tula’s Tacoma newborn photographer.  I have been following along with her mommy’s pregnancy on facebook and anxiously awaiting her arrival so that I could take beautiful baby portraits of her.  It was just last year that I was hired to be her sister Zoe’s Tacoma newborn photographer.  It always feels good when a family comes back.  Watching Zoe interact with her brand new baby sister brought me so much joy.  Zoe is the youngest sibling I have every photographed with a brand new baby.  I was a little worried about how she would do.  Halfway into Tula’s session we brought Zoe in for her turn to take pictures.  Zoe was a dream.  She was loving a gentle and just the very best little lady a photographer could have ever hoped for!  I could have photographed her with her sister all day long.  I am so excited about the portraits I took of the two baby sisters together.  And even more excited to share them with their mom and dad!  Newborn photography is about capturing special moments like the blossoming relationship between sisters.  I am so glad that I get to be a part of that.  I will look forward to keeping in touch with this wonderful family to witness the blossoming of that precious sisterly relationship.

I hope that their little friendship will continue to grow into something beautiful and sweet.  Sisterhood is one of those relationships that can create such a strong and significant bond.  Being so close in age they will get to explore and grow together.  They will be blessed.

Auburn Baby Photographer ~ Character

Being an Auburn baby photographer means it is my job to capture character in a baby’s portraits.  Moms and Dads want to be able to look back years from now and through the images I create remember just how goofy, silly, sweet, tender their toddler was.  It is all about capturing that little personality and budding character in that moment.

Nolan was full of charm.  His smiles are so beautiful.  With each and every smile his little tongue came out to complete his grin like a cherry on top of an ice cream Sunday.  I knew as their Auburn baby photographer I needed to capture that smile for them.  It wasn’t easy to get the smile just right and get his eyes still open.  He smiled with his whole adorable face, which made his eyes wink shut.  When his parents see these images from his session they will remember that day with me in my photography studio.  His mom will remember laughing with me as we watched time and time again that little tongue sneak out to grace his smile.  I am not posting that perfect smile picture her on his sneak peek blog post.  For that you will have to head on over to my facebook page.  I love it so much I wanted to share it all on its own.

Lake Tapps Baby Photographer ~ Ben’s Birthday Portraits

If ever there was a mother meant to have a house full of children it is Meghann.  I have been her Lake Tapps baby photographer throughout the first year of her two babies.  She wins the most frequent visitor to my studio award.  I feel like over the last few years as she has come to see me for maternity portraits, newborn pictures and photo sessions to document her baby’s first year, that I have gotten to know her.  Seeing her on my shooting schedule always makes me happy.  We have so much in common and if she lived closer, and if I had little people the same ages as her children, I know we would be good friends.  Seeing her with her babies is food for the soul.  She is so patient, so tender, so absolutely in love with them.  Meghann is the quintessential mommy.  I wish everyone could have a mother just like her.

As Ben’s Lake Tapps baby photographer, it was my job to capture his little one year old personality.  He was full of smiles, until we brought out the cake.  I think everyone has the conception that all babies love their first cake.  You see the images from cake smash sessions and assume it was all rainbows and unicorns, lol.  But the truth is that most babies are not really all that excited about being in a photo shoot with a messy cake.  It is super sweet, sticky and 100% foreign to them.  The good news is that they are still curious.  And even if they don’t go face first into their cake, there are still great portraits to be taken as they investigate the sticky mess sitting in front of them.

I am really going to miss seeing this lovely family.  All in favor of baby #3 in the future say AYE!

Renton Baby Photographer ~ Madison 9 Days Old

Amanda hired me to be her daughter’s Renton baby photographer during her last trimester.  Planning ahead for your newborn session is so important.  During the last few weeks of your pregnancy and especial in the days right after the delivery of your newborn time seems to speed up.  There will seem like mountains of tasks to accomplish and not enough time to do them in.  Once baby is born, time isn’t so much the limiting factor, energy is.  You will be recovering, all day long you will be caring for the needs of your baby.  It will be time for some hard core prioritizing.  Things like a clean house, laundry and dishes can wait.  They can be done by loving friends and family members.  There are a few things that can not wait and can only be done by you.  One of those things is loving and caring for that brand new bundle of perfection.  The other is coming to your newborn photography session for baby portraits.  It takes a little bit of work to get out the door.  But once you get to my newborn photography studio your work is done and mine begins.  It is my job to help you relax so that you can simply watch and enjoy as I capture beautiful portraits of your brand new baby.  Amanda knew it would be important to come to me for her daughter’s newborn portraits during this window.  During those first two weeks a little one sleeps deeply.  They are still curly little things that we can pose perfectly.  Their skin is still brand new and they haven’t started breaking out.  If you want to remember how your baby was during those first few days, then you have to hire a Renton newborn photographer to capture your baby during that time.  Amanda planned ahead.  And Madison was a perfect little lady.

Madison’s newborn session was a celebration of life.  A brand new perfect little life.  Two tiny cells coming together to create a beautiful baby girl.  We celebrated a family getting bigger, hearts expanding and love growing stronger.  My favorite moments were watching her big brother around her.  I am such a sucker for sibling shots with newborns.  He big brother was a little tentative around her, but you could see that he loved her and was so proud that she was his.  Every single time someone hires me to be their newborn photographer I feel honored that I will be a part of these perfect beginnings!
