This last weekend I went to the movies with a friend to see the “Giver”. While editing baby Hudson’s newborn photography session I kept thinking about the turning point for the main character of the movie. It was his love for a baby. His love for a baby opened his eyes to the world. It was that love that transformed him into a complete human. The tender moments in the movie are all of that young man watching over a sleepy baby and growing as he learned about who he is and how to love. It was only natural that the climax of the movie would also center around his love for that baby boy.
It is so true. In the wee hours of the night, as we sneak tiny glimpses of our sleeping babies, we learn and grow. We step into our destinies. As we whisper lullabies and goodnights, we grasp the true meaning of love. Those bonds that we create become every part of us. And from then on forward, every climax will have something to do with the ties that bind us to our babies.
I am so thankful to be a part of celebrating the arrival of a baby. Being a newborn photographer brings me so much joy. Celebrating a baby’s first moments with a family is such an honor. Thank you to Hudson’s family for choosing me to be your photographer and for inviting me to be part of the arrival of your precious baby.

I love my job! Have I said that lately? Being a baby photographer is such a great job and it makes me happy. I was so excited to see baby Ben. Before his session I looked back at his newborn session and took a peek at his sister’s three month session. It was a good feeling to feel like I have a history with this wonderful family. I chose this portrait for his sneak peek because I felt like of all his images from his session she would love this one of her son the best. Because like myself I know she loves summer, but is eagerly awaiting the approaching Fall. As a business owner I try hard to remember things about the families that come to see me. It shows that I care about each and everyone. And that is what I feel separates me from the pack.
There is something about babies and polka dots! Adelaide loved them too. She very gently pinched off one by one to taste. She was very proper. I love getting to see the little babies I photographed as a newborn photographer come back to see me for a cake smash. It is so fun to see them all grown up. Happy Birthday Adelaide!
Newborn Photographers are like wizards. We have magic up our sleeves. I love that I can create beautiful works of art for my clients by combining shots I take in the studio with product shots I have taken to be used at will in creating one of a kind pieces of art! No, I did not hang this beautiful baby girl from this cherry branch. I couldn’t if I wanted to. Cherry trees don’t bloom in August! But thanks to some careful planning I have this lovely branch at my disposal. I take a little bit of this and a little bit of that, use my magic eraser and wa-la! I hadn’t even planned to do this shot. Harper’s mom asked me about it. Harper was being such a good sleeper. And I knew it would look amazing in her nursery above her crib! So we did it. And I love it!

Natalie looks so beautiful photographed in her Korean dress. The colors of her dress suit her perfectly. I love when I see families continuing to celebrate the culture and traditions of their roots. “Roots are the stories that ground you, the food that returns you, the music that comforts you, the identity that gives you strength, and the people who know you. Everyone has roots that influence them, even if they don’t consciously know them or can’t access them.” -author unknown American’s I never just American’s. We are so much more. We are all that came before us and that will come after. Happy Birthday to this very beautiful lady.
