I couldn’t title Lily’s blog post “cake smash” for the simple reason that there wasn’t one.  Lily like a few other little ones I have had in my eight years of being a baby photographer hated her cake.  There is something about cake that babies just don’t like.  I have wondered about it a lot and my scientific hypothesis is that these cute little people are very uncomfortable with the feeling of frosting all over their hands.  I would like to coin said fear as Gooeeyphobia.  So we didn’t get any cake smash pictures and that happens some times.  That is why at birthday milestone session I do a few traditional portraits before we break out the cake.  Look at all of these great pictures of Lily that we got before she had her “It’s my party and I can cry if I want to” moment when we set her down in front of her birthday cake.  Good thing we got these first.  And it isn’t so bad.  We packed up the cake and Lily got to bring it home to share with her big brother.  All is well that ends well.  Sometimes cake just isn’t your thing.  I wish that was my problem.  Unfortunately, I love cake.  And hate the gym.  So, yeah…not so great.  Happy birthday little lady.  It has been a pleasure to be your baby photographer!
