One of the things I love the most about my job as a newborn photographer is seeing brand new parents absolutely smitten with their new child.  I happens every time.  But this Dad was the proudest and most amazed ever to visit with me.  I couldn’t help but smile as I watched him want to be involved in every way.  He took pictures with his phone during the session because he just could help himself.  His daughter was just so beautiful.  I love it.  It made me smile to think about all those cell phone pictures circulating out there when we were working on creating beautiful portraits – he just couldn’t wait.

There was a twinkle in his eye and it was obvious that he was proud!  I often times wish that I had more space in my studio so that I could work with a videographer during my sessions.  There is just so much magic happening there and I can’t possibly capture it all in still images.  There was a moment were Dad was transfixed by the magic happening as his beautiful partner nursed their daughter.  That needed to be on video.  Perhaps me writing it down for them here will help them always those special moments.

I usually have to give dads lots of direction when it is there turn to pose with there babies.  Not this Dad.  This is all him.  I had him sit down, put his daughter on his chest and the rest is all him.  I didn’t have to ask him to kiss and snuggle…he was happily loving every moment of his daughters beginnings all on his own.  The definition for smitten is “very much in love” and I think this Dad has two beautiful women in his life in which he is very much in love with and that makes me so so happy.
