So glad to be back in the saddle having a session with a beautiful newborn baby boy.  One of my closest friends gifted a friend of hers a session with me at her baby shower.  How awesome is that.  Wouldn’t you love for someone to do the same for you?  I was thinking about it and I thought that it is a sure way to give the most memorable gift!  There is no way a cute outfit, a stylish baby bag or even a home sewn quilt can compete with portraits of your precious newborn!  I am sure that my friend has earned herself a permanent place of honor in this new mother’s heart for giving such a thoughtful and wonderful gift.

Ty is Barbara’s first child.  I love getting to photograph brand new parents whether they just had their 1st or 7th child.  But there is definitely something extra special when a couple comes in with their first baby.  They have just worked together to create for the very first time a living breathing little person.  And it is new to them and you can see that wonder in their eyes!  Is there any success greater in life than creating a family?  I don’t think so.  I love to be part of this experience.  It is like a drug that you just can’t get enough of.  I love being in the presence of brand new parents, in awe with their new little creation…the room is filled such positive energy.

Being a part of these special moments often makes me considering having another child.  My youngest is 3 now.  I miss having a baby in my home.  There is something extraordinary about the atmosphere a newborn brings to a home.  It is like everyone always wanting kittens and puppies.  Selfishly I want all the wonderful perks of having a child in their infancy.  That sweet skin, watching them learn how to use their fingers and waiting for them to smile for the first time.  I would love to have another baby, but I don’t want to have a larger family really.  So being a newborn photographer is such a wonderful blessing!!!
